Big Brothers Big Sisters Grey Bruce

Our programs aim to match youth with a strong positive adult role model to talk to and share life experiences with. We connect local youth with a mentor who becomes their friend and someone who expresses care, shares power, challenges growth and expands possibilities. Enabling life changing mentoring relationships empowers youth to grow both as individuals and as members of our community. We create a foundation for a relationship built on trust, fun and common interests.

Georgian Bay Concert Choir

The Georgian Bay Concert Choir started in 1972, to accompany what is now The Georgian Bay Symphony. Its mandate is to assemble the necessary forces required to present master works such as Handel’s Messiah using, where possible, up and coming soloists and musicians from the area. The choir performs as much music as possible written by Canadian composers. To date, two works have been commissioned by the choir: “A Celebration of the Nativity” by Keith Bissell (a former Meaford area resident) and “People and the Land” by Jeff Smallman. The choir is always looking for new voices.

Coco Love Alcorn’s Wonderland Studio

The Wonderland Studio at Harmony Centre serves as home base for all things Coco. From here I live-stream performances and lead the Wonderland Singers, an online community choir and singing workshop series.

Using loopers to layer my own voice and a host of other instruments, I lead the group through a mix of my original songs, some covers, and music of the moment; focusing on folk, soul, and spirit lifting songs. Everything is taught by ear using mostly call and response singing. Together we explore melody, harmony, rhythm, creativity, improvisation, inspiration, and the joy of singing.
